These two chairs have magical powers. No exaggeration. If you sit on them, because of their extraordinary properties, they disappear. However, when you stand up they reappear, making the most incredible splash. I think you and your guests will enjoy this little magic.

Tablecloth?

Photobucket

This is a tablecloth, but you can assign this piece a multitask: gobelin, tapestry, bed-cover, throw, etc...
Just let your imagination run with it. Become part of the creative process. The fabric I used to compose this cloth is a hand-painted, one of a kind silk panel. The pigments I used are water-based, mixed exclusively by me in my atelier. The color-fasting process is completely artisinal, no different from the ones used by ancient Japanese and Italian artisans.

The chaise-longue

Photobucket

When I think about a chaise-longue, the first thing that comes to mind is Madame Recamier (David 1748-1925) reclined on her XIX century chaise looking at us intently, as if saying “On est cool et comfortable, non?”

Well, now is your chance to relax on this XIX century updated version of a chaise-longue, upholstered in one-of-a-kind silk velour, painted by Rodrigo Palacios, exclusively with color water-based dyestuffs and colorfast to fit this piece that, no doubt, would make Madame Recamier exclaim:

“Ooh-la-la. Voilà une chaise-longue!”

A chair to sit on or a chair to enjoy?

Photobucket

Photobucket

Perhaps it is not exaggerated to say that there are two types of chair: the one we can touch, sit or step on when we want to reach a book on top of a book case in the library. But then, there is the other one, the archetype, the one that transcends the former. In this particular case, you have both in one, coexisting in a symbiotic relationship that binds the two, the ideal chair and the piece of furniture itself. Take your pick. Either way you’ll be all too comfortable with this unique, one-of-a-kind piece, which is what counts.
By the way, have you ever seen a chair like this? Have they, your guests?

A placemat, a painting, a gobelin?

Photobucket

Today we are looking at a photo of a place mat. Ironically enough, this brings to mind that the word for photo in French is “cliché”. And I say this because a cliché is exactly what I am trying to avoid attempting to describe this place mat.

In reality, to simply call this a place mat is not fair because it could also be a tapestry, a painting, or a gobelin. Be that as it may, let us imagine your table set with six or more of these. The first thing your guests will say to you is:
“ I have never seen place mats like these.”
To which you can reply in all honesty, with an answer devoid of pretension:
“You are right! These are Sara Palacios’ one-of-a-kind place mats, or small tapestries, paintings, collages, quiltings or gobelins…
Bon appétit

This pillow has been conceived as two paintings, one in the front and another in the back, whose concepts are best left to the imagination of the beholder. It was structured on the basis of stitched silk panels, mainly velour and chiffon. This piece is one of a kind, which means that it is an objet d'art that can be displayed as an art piece without excluding the possibility of just resting on it. Or both!If you were to visit our gallery we would be happy to speak with you about our work and show you around. If you are decorating, we do make house-calls. We can work with you as our repertoire is wide and varied.

Garden of World Delights

Photobucket

This chair, although perfectly functional, was conceived as a work of art, a piece de resistance, in spite of its delicate appearance. This piece is intended to be enthroned in the most elegant setting: an office, a dining room, a living room, a hallway, a bedroom et-cetera. This one-of-a-kind, signed, chair will afford a touch of refinement and uniqueness to its surroundings, such as what a painting or sculpture does to a flat in the Left Bank in Paris, an office in Manhattan, or a home in Los Angeles. With one difference though: you can sit on it. No problem! You will feel, as if by magic, warmly embraced, caressed by poetry and beauty.

The Anti-Commercial Chair

Photobucket

This chair is unlike any that you have ever seen.

To begin with, contrary to what you might conjure from looking at the photo, you can actually sit on it! No problem. The decoration is sturdy enough to withstand wear and tear. Then, as for the environmental aspect of it, and this goes for all of our pieces, it is absolutely green. It is made with recycled pieces, painted by hand with water-based paint.

With regard to the artisitc elements, the chair is one of a kind... collaged and conceived like a work of art.

It is the anti-commercial chair.
